Software Engineer – AI‑Native Travel Products

About the role

FCM, part of the Flight Centre Travel Group, is looking for a Software Engineer to help build AI‑native products that enhance business travel experiences worldwide. You will join an agile squad, work with DevOps best practices, and have the autonomy to shape technical decisions while growing your expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and micro‑services using Ruby on Rails.
• Integrate and optimise LLM‑powered features such as intelligent search, travel recommendations, and document processing.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and containerised deployments on Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) systems for content retrieval and evaluate LLM outputs for accuracy and cost‑efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews, own features from design through deployment, and monitor performance in production.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional software development experience, primarily backend.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and experience with API design.
• Comfortable working in English within an international, agile team.
• Hands‑on experience with containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) into production applications.
