Strategic Buyer – Next Generation Composites

About the role

Airbus is looking for a Strategic Buyer to lead the procurement of next‑generation composite materials. You will join the PMBC (Composites Strategic Procurement) team in Getafe and work across the Airbus Group to define, develop and secure future composite technologies for aircraft platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the Composites Procurement Strategy aligned with the Next‑Gen Programme.
• Lead call‑for‑tender activities and coordinate cross‑divisional functional teams.
• Establish and manage contractual frameworks (NDAs, cooperation and research agreements) with external suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance, ensure adherence to programme milestones and material delivery schedules.
• Contribute to material trade‑off analyses, risk and opportunity management.
• Prepare and present inputs to senior management at decision‑making gates.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Science (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics) or Business Administration.
• Proven experience in international procurement, supplier management, contract negotiation and competitive bidding.
• Advanced/Fluent English (C1‑C2) and strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Understanding of procurement frameworks, risk management and strategic sourcing.
• Knowledge of composite technologies and project‑management methodology is a plus.
