Technical Product Owner - System & Data Integration

About the role

Roche is looking for a Technical Product Owner (TPO) in Madrid to own assigned modules of its Data Computation Platform (DCP). The TPO bridges high-level platform vision and hands-on software execution, turning business requirements into technical designs, directing engineering backlogs and driving fast, reliable delivery. Work ranges from open-source analytics to GxP-validated applications, partnering with validation specialists when compliance applies.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical vision, architecture, database schemas and release roadmaps for assigned platform modules.
• Translate business and analytics requirements into technical user stories and manage sprint backlogs using Scrum or SAFe.
• Lead module technical design, microservice architecture, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and API integrations with industrial data sources such as AVEVA PI, LIMS and MES.
• Oversee CI/CD release pipelines, system health and level-3 technical support escalations.
• Act as the main technical contact for Computerized System Validation (CSV) teams on regulated modules, aligning test cases and supply specifications.
• Collaborate with peers across the team and contribute technical support to other modules when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, technical product ownership or solution architecture.
• Proven experience directing engineering teams and managing technical backlogs in Agile environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Software development in Python, R, C# or modern JS frameworks (Vue/Angular).
• Microservices, RESTful APIs, relational data modeling and containerization frameworks.
• Familiarity with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, Data Integrity or CSV workflows.
• Nice to have: integration experience with manufacturing execution systems, SCADA or AVEVA PI, and hands-on automation of test execution in CI/CD pipelines.
