Technical Sales Engineer (Pre-Sales)

About the role

TOMRA Food, a multinational provider of sensor-based sorting, peeling and post-harvest solutions for the food industry, is looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer or Technical Sales Engineer. The role combines technical expertise, application knowledge and solution design skills to help customers solve complex processing challenges, working alongside customers and sales teams from product demonstrations to system design.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze customer processes, production requirements and desired outcomes to develop tailored solutions
• Prepare technical specifications, solution designs, performance analyses, quotations and supporting documentation
• Design and evaluate processing systems, layouts and integrated solutions, including third-party equipment
• Run product demonstrations, field trials, testing, validation and performance optimization projects
• Analyze operational data to identify optimization opportunities and give technical guidance on equipment configuration
• Deliver technical presentations, webinars, customer workshops and reference visits
• Support Sales and Service teams with application training, troubleshooting and customer-facing technical support
• Recommend solutions that balance performance, reliability, scalability and cost, and conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams
• Maintain solution documentation and monitor industry trends, and share knowledge across the organization

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Automation or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in Agri-Tech, food processing, automation, material handling or equipment-related industries
• Spanish and English proficiency
• Experience supporting customers through sales, applications, service or solution development
• Ability to analyze operational data, prepare technical documentation and present to customers
• Valid work permit/visa where required, and ability to travel up to 30% within the EMEA region
• Unrestricted valid driving license

Required skills

• CAD and design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks
• System design, process evaluation and equipment integration
• Structured problem-solving, multi-priority management and customer-focused communication
