About the role
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is seeking a Vice President, Events to shape and deliver its global events portfolio. Based in Madrid with international travel, the role combines strategic planning, commercial development, and operational execution for flagship events such as the Global Summit and regional gatherings.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a global events strategy aligned with WTTC’s organisational objectives and member engagement priorities.
- Lead long‑term planning, innovation, and commercial sustainability of flagship events.
- Oversee end‑to‑end event delivery, including venue sourcing, supplier negotiations, production management, logistics, security coordination and post‑event evaluation.
- Ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Integrate sponsorship and partnership opportunities into event programmes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership across advocacy, membership, communications and business development to maximise stakeholder impact.
Required profile
- Extensive experience leading large‑scale, international events in fast‑paced, high‑profile environments.
- Strong organisational and people‑leadership capabilities.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder groups, including government officials, CEOs, ministers and media.
- Strategic mindset with a commercial orientation.
- Excellent collaboration skills and political sensitivity.
