Accountant – Finance Operations (Madrid)

About the role

Whitewater Group is expanding its international finance team and is looking for an Accountant based in Madrid. The role supports accurate, timely and compliant financial operations across the business, working closely with the Finance Manager and the wider finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review, validate and process supplier invoices in line with company policies.
• Monitor invoice status, resolve discrepancies and maintain communication with suppliers.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, ensuring contractual and billing compliance.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, handling capitalization, depreciation and disposals.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, provisions and payroll‑related adjustments.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes and meet deadlines.
• Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare tax calculations, returns and statutory filings in accordance with relevant regulations.
• Manage Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) and Deferred Revenue accounting.

Required profile

• Proactive and detail‑oriented finance professional with strong analytical abilities.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, tax requirements and month‑end close procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and business functions.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of financial accuracy and compliance.
