Accountant – Madrid

About the role

ALMAR WATER is seeking an Accountant to join its fast‑growing finance team in Madrid. You will support a wide range of accounting, reporting and treasury activities for the company’s international operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable and supplier invoice processing.
• Prepare general‑ledger reconciliations and post intercompany transactions.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and statutory reporting, including the preparation of financial statements and audit assistance.
• Assist with tax filings, budget control, forecasting and the preparation of bank covenant reports.
• Enter GL transactions and process payments using SAP and banking platforms.
• Participate in cash‑management and treasury operations, including cash positioning and bank relationship management.
• Contribute to group consolidation processes, intercompany eliminations and fixed‑asset management.
• Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
• Fluent English (C1); native‑level Spanish is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
