Accountant – Renewable Energy Sector

About the role

Universal Kraft group is expanding its finance team to support fast‑growing renewable energy projects across wind, solar, waste‑to‑energy and green hydrogen. As an Accountant you will ensure the accuracy of financial records and provide insights that help drive strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries, reconciliations and expense reports.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
• Monitor and analyse financial data to identify trends and support business decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal procedures.
• Support the preparation of tax returns, VAT filings and statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams for timely processing of financial transactions.
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors or regulatory bodies.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and contribute to the development of financial systems and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an international or fast‑paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and local tax legislation.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• High level of accuracy, analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
• Organised, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Primavera or Sage (or equivalent).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
