Accountant – Spain

About the role

Leon Cycle Spain is seeking a dedicated Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting functions and support the EU Financial Controller in rolling out a new ERP system. The role ensures smooth financial operations across the Spanish entity while collaborating closely with sales, operations, and external advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts and incoming payments in line with financial policies.
• Perform daily financial transactions, including verification, classification, posting, and recording of accounts receivable data.
• Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits; reconcile the accounts receivable ledger.
• Resolve client billing discrepancies and send payment reminders.
• Generate financial statements and reports on accounts receivable status.
• Provide monthly consolidated reporting to the EU Financial Controller in London.
• Partner with sales and operations on revenue and expense tracking, as well as retail store financial operations.
• Coordinate with local external accounting firms and assist in setting up new legal entities.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FASB, and local tax regulations.
• Support the implementation of the new ERP system and related accounting policies.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and handle sensitive information confidentially.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a fast‑growing start‑up.
• CPA qualification completed or in progress is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take a hands‑on approach.
• Willingness to take on additional finance tasks as needed.
