Accounting and Tax Manager – Barcelona

About the role

AXA Partners is seeking an experienced Accounting and Tax Manager to lead a team of six professionals in Barcelona. You will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and the smooth operation of the new PeopleSoft accounting ERP.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the local product owner for the PeopleSoft ERP, supervising system controls and data flow.
• Prepare statutory reports, monthly closings, annual accounts, and regulatory filings.
• Forecast and control technical margins, including premiums, commissions, and reinsurance.
• Manage treasury functions, cash pooling, and relationships with external auditors and tax consultants.
• Oversee tax declarations and coordinate corporate tax consolidation with AXA Seguros.
• Provide internal control reports, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align financial processes with operational needs.
• Lead and develop a team of six, driving continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Accounting degree, preferably with insurance accounting experience.
• 8‑10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or treasury.
• Familiarity with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Previous experience in a Big Four audit firm or insurance company is desirable.
• Advanced English and native Spanish proficiency.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
