Additive Manufacturing Analytical Lab Technical Lead

About the role

HP is looking for an Analytical Lab Lead to run the 3D Analytical Laboratory and support materials research, process development and product quality for Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) technologies. The role combines laboratory leadership, materials characterization, equipment management, quality investigations and R&D support, ensuring laboratory excellence and high-quality technical data.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of polymer and metal analytical labs, keeping them compliant, safe and ready, with efficient workflows and timely results
• Coordinate priorities around business, R&D and operations, and support technical staff through training and knowledge sharing
• Drive continuous improvement, expand capabilities, improve methods and plan equipment and methodology investments
• Lead materials characterization using physical, chemical, thermal and microscopy techniques, and act as subject matter expert on methods, equipment and data interpretation
• Ensure data accuracy and reliability, and continuously improve measurement systems and quality processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering or a related field, or commensurate experience
• Typically 2-4 years of experience, preferably in chemistry practice, lab procedures, process improvement or people management
• Experience managing analytical lab operations, equipment and workflows
• Experience in experimental design, data analysis, technical reporting and problem-solving investigations
• Experience leading technical projects with cross-functional engineering teams
• Preferred: experience with MJF, Metal Jet or similar additive manufacturing technologies
