Adjunct Professor – Sustainability & Environmental Science

About the role

IE University School of Science and Technology is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sustainability, environmental science, and environmental technology. The position is part‑time and focuses on delivering case‑based, practice‑oriented learning to a diverse, international student body.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lecture and seminar sessions covering topics such as ecological transition, climate science, ecosystems, circular economy, and energy technologies.
• Develop course materials, assignments, and assessments that integrate real‑world case studies.
• Mentor and advise students on projects, research, and career pathways.
• Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to enhance curriculum relevance.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in sustainability, environmental science, environmental technology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: sustainability and the 2030 Agenda, climate science/meteorology, ecosystems and natural capital, circular economy, water and waste management, energy storage or carbon capture.
• Experience linking academic theory with applied, case‑based teaching.
