Agile Product Owner

About the role

Cigna Healthcare is looking for an Agile Product Owner in Madrid. The Product Owner maximizes value delivery at Scrum Team level by turning product strategy and priorities into high-quality backlog items, working closely with the Agile Product Manager. As the voice of the customer, the role balances customer needs, business outcomes and delivery commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Agile Product Manager on product vision, roadmap and outcomes aligned with business strategy and customer needs.
• Keep delivery progress and milestones visible so roadmaps stay relevant and timely.
• Translate release train backlog priorities into clear, value-focused team priorities and lead feature refinement.
• Decompose features into user stories and own Jira backlog quality, approving stories before acceptance.
• Lead PI planning cycles and collaborate with Scrum Master, QA and UAT teams on delivery, quality and predictability metrics.
• Set up analytics to monitor utilization, customer experience and delivery performance, and share insights with the Agile Product Manager.
• Partner with Customer Experience and UX/UI design teams and with international health stakeholders across regions and time zones.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and strong English.
• Either deep industry/business experience or Agile delivery experience; healthcare experience preferred.
• Business and delivery acumen, customer-centric mindset, ownership and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and decision-making skills.
• Flexibility to work with international stakeholders across time zones.

Required skills

• Jira or equivalent (preferred).
• Agile methodology knowledge (preferred/required depending on needs).
• SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager certification (pre or post hire).
• Technical competence in data analysis, data pipelines, APIs, machine learning and/or generative AI is an additional qualification.
