AI Engineering Lead

About the role

Fever, a global tech platform for culture and live entertainment, is building the team that defines how AI changes product and engineering workflows. As AI Engineering Lead you will own the AI substrate that makes engineering and product work faster and higher quality, lead a team of AI engineers, partner with peers across engineering and product, and report to the Head of Engineering, AI & DevEx.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of AI engineers, and set the metrics they are accountable to (lead time idea to shipped, cost per shipped feature, harness shippable-output rate, human intervention rate).
• Own the agentic harness for product and engineering: skills, sub-agents, guardrails and verification that turn agents into shippable output, plus the shared knowledge-base infrastructure they read from and write to.
• Build evaluation infrastructure so every change lands on signal, with naked baselines and a rule to ship only on measured improvement.
• Control inference economics: model routing, caching strategy, and when self-hosted open-source wins over frontier models.

Required profile

• AI Engineer who builds on foundation models (prompt engineering, RAG, agent orchestration, evaluation, fine-tuning) and ships systems to production.
• 5+ years building production software, with at least the last 1-2 years deep in LLM applications, agents and AI tooling.
• Strong engineering bar: testing, design patterns, CI/CD and observability.
• Builder-leader who can run a room with executives, pair with developers and hold 1:1s in the same week.
• Fluent in inference economics and comfortable with continuous-delivery rules.

Bonus points

• Public artefacts on agent harnesses, AI evaluation or AI-era engineering (open source, talks, blog posts, papers).
• Experience leading through ambiguity at startup scale.
• Background in evaluation infrastructure, RAG retrieval design or agent orchestration frameworks.
