Applications Engineer - Power Electronics

About the role

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS), a leading international semiconductor company, is looking for a highly self-motivated engineer with a passion for hardware and good knowledge of power electronics. The role supports the validation of new integrated circuits (ICs) for high-voltage applications, including DC/DC converters, current sensors and isolated drivers, within the hardware department.

Key responsibilities

• Design simulated and validated power electronics circuits to meet the required specifications.
• Prepare hardware and software setups, together with the hardware and simulation team, to measure all required parameters of the IC.
• Develop schematics and PCBs for new solutions.
• Develop device modeling (SPICE).
• Work with the IC design team to debug and troubleshoot the device under test.
• Generate documentation and reports for all tests performed.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; subjects related to power electronics and control are desired.
• Hands-on experience verifying and troubleshooting electronic circuits (firmware and hardware).
• Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Good oral and written skills for communication and documentation.
• Self-motivated and strong team player.

Required skills

• Knowledge of power electronics.
• Use of electronic laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• SPICE device modeling.
