Assistant Director of Rooms – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Assistant Director of Rooms will support the Director of Rooms in leading the Rooms Division of The Ritz‑Carlton Tenerife, Abama. This senior position ensures the delivery of exceptional guest experiences across Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge, Bell Services and Guest Relations while upholding the brand’s Gold Standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Rooms in daily operations of all Rooms Division departments.
• Maintain service excellence in line with Ritz‑Carlton and Marriott International standards.
• Lead, coach and develop departmental leaders, fostering a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.
• Drive guest satisfaction through personalized service, proactive issue resolution and monitoring of performance metrics.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Finance, HR and other functions to ensure seamless resort operations.
• Support budgeting, labor productivity, scheduling and expense control while preserving service quality.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety, data privacy and operational procedures.
• Represent the Director of Rooms during their absence, providing operational leadership and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience within a Rooms Division, preferably in a luxury or Forbes Five‑Star resort.
• Strong background in hotel operations, budgeting and performance management.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to inspire and develop high‑performing teams.
