Assistant General Manager - Operations

About the role

The Assistant General Manager – Operations will lead key functional business areas, driving organisational resilience, efficiency and value creation across the Group’s operations. This senior position reports to the Deputy CEO and sits on the Senior Management Team.

Key responsibilities

• Develops, implements and drives business strategy and initiatives in collaboration with functional heads to deliver results and value.
• Guides strategic direction of departments, improving operational efficiencies and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Oversees strategic and operational activities of Group Operations, establishing policies consistent with corporate objectives.
• Ensures integrity of lending operations, manages risk, and maintains robust internal controls to prevent fraud.
• Manages departmental budgets and escalates out‑of‑budget items to the GCEO/GDCEO for approval.
• Supports the Deputy CEO, Operations and Administration to ensure operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in a relevant discipline or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, CIMA, ACCA) from a recognised institution.
• Minimum ten years’ experience, with at least seven years at senior managerial level in banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of the economic, business, legal and regulatory environment locally and regionally.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high business and financial acumen.
• Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality.
