Assistant Store Manager

About the role

Columbia Sportswear Company is looking for an Assistant Store Manager in Málaga to join its Store Leadership Team. With more than 430 retail stores worldwide, the team ensures effective store operations, guides and develops team members and helps deliver memorable customer experiences. You will assist the Store Manager in improving customer service, driving store sales and increasing profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to store staff, including supervisors and associates
• Execute and support plans to improve employee productivity and performance
• Assist the Store Manager with interviewing, hiring, training and coaching staff
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels through replenishment, organization, shrink control and communication
• Help develop and implement action plans for store sales, goals, safety, training and personnel development

Required profile

• No specific education required; High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 5+ years of experience in the position or specialization
• Ability to judge and solve day-to-day technical and operational problems
• Effective communication with the store leadership team, associates and customers
• Physical stamina, as the role involves moving around and handling items up to 40 lbs, with occasional exposure to dust and noise
• Flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally

Required skills

• Operating a Point of Sale (POS) system and other in-store computerized systems
• Telephone operation

Expected pay for full-time positions is €21,980 - €29,960, depending on market competitiveness, skills and experience.
