Assistant Vice President, Private Credit

About the role

Morningstar DBRS' Private Credit team is looking for an Assistant Vice President to join its specialist Middle Market team in Madrid. The role works closely with the Team Leader and the wider Middle-Market team based in the US and Canada, evaluating the creditworthiness of mid-sized companies across diverse industries. It involves preparing credit research reports and industry commentary, researching key middle-market credit topics and keeping regular contact with issuers, investors and other market participants.

Key responsibilities

• Cover a broad range of mid-sized corporations with weak credit profiles and assist with new rating assignments
• Produce timely, high-quality credit research, including rating reports and commentaries
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, investors and bankers
• Lead rating committee discussions and help refine processes and research products
• Build and update related databases as required

Required profile

• Four to five years of experience in credit analysis, corporate lending or credit risk
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
• CFA designation or progress toward completion is desirable
• Excellent knowledge of credit analysis and capital markets, preferably with experience covering high-yield issuers and/or middle-market credits
• Familiarity with the legal and transaction documentation of corporate debt issuances
• Strong research and analytical skills, including interpreting complex financial statements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

What we offer

• Base salary of EUR 63,400 to 92,133, with a 20% annual bonus target
