Autonomous Vehicle Car Driver / Mapping Operator

About the role

The Autonomous Vehicle Car Driver will operate and monitor self‑driving cars on both defined and undefined routes, collecting data and providing feedback to improve the technology. The role includes a fully expense‑paid training period in Orlando, USA, before returning to Madrid for ongoing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive autonomous vehicles, primarily monitoring their behavior in autonomous mode while performing occasional manual driving.
• Log software performance, environmental conditions, and verbal feedback during each ride.
• Complete detailed ride reports for operations and engineering teams.
• Test additional vehicle functions and assist with mapping tasks.
• Work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight schedules.
• Maintain the highest safety standards inside and outside the vehicle.

Required profile

• Valid EU/EEA Category B driving licence held for at least five years.
• Valid passport and ability to travel to the United States for a 4‑6 week training period.
• Clear criminal background check for the past ten years and willingness to undergo quarterly checks.
• Pass a drug and alcohol test at hire and agree to random monthly testing.
• Achieve a minimum 90% score on Defensive Driving Training (DDT).

Required skills

• Proficiency with a laptop and common Office applications.
• Experience using Gmail, Google Sheets and Google Docs.
• Comfort with handheld touchscreen devices such as smartphones.
