Backend Engineer – Java/Kotlin Microservices

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join Fotocasa Group’s Tech Team. You will help build and maintain high‑performance services that power millions of real‑estate users across Spain and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex problems with product teams and develop data‑driven hypotheses.
• Iterate quickly using a “fail‑fast” approach to validate ideas and deliver solutions.
• Shape backend strategy by contributing to roadmap initiatives and collaborating with the wider backend community.
• Coordinate with multiple squads and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of technical solutions.
• Promote best practices through active participation in the Backend guild.

Required profile

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering teams.
• Outcome‑oriented mindset with a high sense of ownership.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Self‑starter capable of managing projects with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• 5+ years of professional experience with Java and Kotlin.
• Deep knowledge of microservices architecture using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes or Amazon ECS, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with Kafka for stream processing.
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles, security‑first development, and writing well‑tested code.
• Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows.
