Backend Engineer, Node.js/TypeScript

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer specialized in Node.js and TypeScript to join a fast‑scaling global engineering team. The role is remote‑first and focuses on building the core infrastructure that powers HR and payroll services used in more than 150 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build robust, high‑performance APIs with strong security measures.
• Optimize PostgreSQL queries, data models and migrations for large‑scale data processing.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, designers and QA to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Ensure system reliability through clean architecture, testing and code‑quality best practices.
• Participate in product planning, technical discovery and architecture discussions.
• Identify and resolve production issues, contributing to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in remote, distributed teams.
• Product‑oriented mindset with a focus on delivering customer value.
