Big Data Developer Intern

About the role

Zurich Technology Delivery Center in Barcelona, set up in 2006 as part of the Zurich Insurance Group, delivers software development, data and analytics, cybersecurity and IT infrastructure solutions. As a Big Data Developer Intern you will work alongside experienced colleagues in an international environment, building practical experience in big data development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop data applications using Spark with Scala or Python
• Create unit and integration tests to support reliable, high-quality applications
• Monitor and support applications running on the data ingestion platform
• Maintain clear and up-to-date technical documentation

Required profile

• Active student status with a Spanish university or educational institution (mandatory)
• Interest in a career in technology, data or software engineering
• Availability for a part-time internship of at least 6 months
• English communication with international colleagues and managers on a daily basis

Required skills

• Experience or academic knowledge of Scala and SQL
• Knowledge of Spark and/or Python is highly valued
• Knowledge of Azure or AWS is desirable
