Business Transformation Consultant - Corporate Finance

About the role

FTI Consulting is looking for a Business Transformation Consultant in its Corporate Finance practice, based in Madrid. The practice addresses the strategic, operational, financial and capital needs of corporations, boards, private equity sponsors and other stakeholders, covering pre-deal due diligence, post-merger integration, business plan development, restructuring and performance improvement. The consultant joins project teams working with clients and also supports ongoing business development.

Key responsibilities

• Model financial and operational scenarios and analyse operations (e.g. OEE assessment, FTE benchmarking)
• Assess company financials, research markets and formulate strategy
• Develop business plans and identify upside and downside potential
• Create implementable improvement plans, plan carve-outs and integrations, and conduct private equity due diligence
• Manage and implement programmes, write presentations and reports, and attend client and internal meetings, including regular and extensive travel
• Support junior team members

Required profile

• University degree (or equivalent), preferably in a numerical degree
• Demonstrable consulting experience and project experience in fast-paced, high-result environments (performance improvement, turnaround, due diligence)
• Experience delivering results across functions such as performance improvement, operations, financial modelling, business plan review, implementation, programme management, strategy, market assessment and transactions
• Industry experience (consumer goods, retail, pharma, transport and logistics, travel and leisure) is an advantage
• Fluent Spanish speaker and writer

Required skills

• Excellent consulting skills: hypothesis-driven problem solving, strong verbal and written communication, relationship building, organization and planning
• Excel-based analytic and modelling skills
• Good knowledge of P&L, cash flow and balance sheet
• Relevant industry expertise in complex operations highly preferred
