CAD Modeler - Linear Infrastructures

About the role

AECOM is recruiting a CAD Modeler for its Linear Infrastructures team, which produces assessments, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs for roadways, railways, gradings and civil works. The role suits someone who wants to develop their career in civil infrastructure drafting within an international, multicultural team and learn new digital software platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and follow project CAD standards or set CAD procedures if none are provided.
• Prepare finished design drawings from sketches, notes and layout details in 2D and 3D CAD.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control of CAD work produced by others.
• Work in a team with colleagues in different offices, under limited supervision, and adapt to strict timelines and different leadership styles.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience as a CAD Technician on civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading or managing CAD Technician teams.
• Good oral and written English.
• Preferred: certified in a drafting technology institute or similar professional education.

Required skills

• Expert use of CAD software (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).
• Common data environments: Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM360) and Bentley ProjectWise.
• Modelling or drafting with Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer is an advantage.
• Experience with Transport Authority clients in the USA, Canada and Australia is an advantage.
