Cargo Sales Officer - Madrid

About the role

Etihad Cargo is looking for a Sales Officer in Madrid to drive sales growth within the cargo division, with a strong focus on the pharmaceutical sector. The role uses knowledge of pharmaceuticals to develop and manage key accounts and find new business, and delivers targets through the Cargo Service Partner/General Sales Agent (CSP/GSA) and Ground Handling Agent (GHA) teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies and drive monthly performance against agreed revenue and operating targets, including contribution metrics.
• Set targets, challenge customer, product mix and destination mix to achieve optimum quality revenue, and measure progress in Spain.
• Identify and target potential clients and markets such as Pharma, Perishables and Aerospace, and build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Nurture existing clients, hold regular reviews to address needs and resolve issues, and lead seasonal contract negotiations, allotments and project cargo requests.
• Monitor market trends and competitors, give recommendations to adjust sales strategies, and work with cargo operations and the marketing team on campaigns.
• Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts, present findings to senior management, and comply with safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• High school with 3 years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 1 year of relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of commercial experience within cargo.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong cargo commercial experience.
• Basic knowledge and experience of GHA/warehouse handling.
