Casualty Claims Adjuster (Complex Claims)

About the role

AIG Europe S.A. (Spain branch) is looking for a Casualty Claims Adjuster (Adjuster II Complex Claims) to handle medium-severity casualty claims. The role is client-facing and covers coverage, legal liability and quantum analysis, with interaction with brokers, insureds, external providers and internal stakeholders. Team members are expected to be primarily in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of a claim file from start to finish, including investigation, liability determination, coverage confirmation, damage assessment and drafting of the claim evaluation.
• Investigate claims, gather data and assemble the facts.
• Use litigation and claims management information systems to keep claims data and files organised.
• Review claims against AIG's Best Practices, covering investigation status, liability, damages, reserve adequacy, expert witnesses and the plan for resolution.
• Maintain good working relationships with other departments and respond quickly to internal and external customers.
• Take part in problem-solving in line with company policy, guidelines, statutes and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including list run rates.
• Monitor salvage, subrogation or other recovery proceedings and investigate fraud, giving timely advice and documents to coinsurers and reinsurers.
