Chief Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function for our European entities. Based in Barcelona, you will work closely with top management and international finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support the company’s rapid growth in the automotive market.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting for EU entities.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish GAAP, IFRS, and EU accounting standards.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Handle tax filings, declarations, and liaison with local tax authorities and auditors.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate reconciliations.
• Support treasury operations, cash‑flow management, and bank relationships.
• Assist in budget preparation, cost control, and financial analysis.
• Maintain and improve internal controls in line with corporate policies.
• Provide timely financial insights and reports to management and headquarters.
• Support other finance‑related tasks as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP, IFRS and EU financial regulations.
• Proven experience in tax compliance and financial audits.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; Catalan and Chinese are a plus.
