China Strategic Market Access Lead

About the role

Alexion's GVAP China strategic Access Lead is based in Barcelona and plays a strategic role in unlocking new innovative access opportunities and solutions for China, supporting the expansion of Alexion's rare disease portfolio. The role works closely with the AZ China team, the GVAP leadership team and global/regional cross-functional teams, helping build a rare disease-specific market access and pricing ecosystem in China.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands-on experience and strategic guidance for China and the provinces in scope, helping establish and drive an actionable cross-functional market access and pricing policy framework that reinforces local access strategy.
• Support, explore and propose strategic access initiatives that open opportunities for a rare disease-specific market access and pricing ecosystem, including stakeholder engagement events, narratives and position papers for payers, government officials and other key stakeholders.
• Build strategic access capability at country level by sharing best practices and providing tailored operational support to the China teams.

Required profile

• Proven market access experience in building and implementing access and pricing strategies with documented successes.
• Understanding of the access and policy environment for rare diseases and/or specialized medicines in China; China country market expertise preferred.
• Prior rare disease or specialized drugs therapy area expertise.
• Relevant drug development and/or commercialization experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Master's degree or higher with a strong scientific background.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is highly desired.
