About the role

Barceló Hotel Group is seeking a substitute cook to join its kitchen team at the Barceló hotel in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The successful candidate will work under the Head Chef, preparing dishes according to the established menu specifications and ensuring smooth kitchen operations during periods of staff replacement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all recipes following the technical sheets of the set menu rotation.
• Maintain the proper functioning of the kitchen and report to the Head Chef.
• Assist in cost control, inventory management and purchasing activities.
• Carry out cleaning, preservation, cooking, reheating and restocking of food items.
• Receive and store food supplies according to established standards and orders.
• Perform tasks in compliance with current safety and hygiene legislation.

Required profile

• Formal training: Higher Level Vocational Training in Cooking and Gastronomy (Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior) and an APPCC course.
• Minimum of one year experience in a similar kitchen position.
• Ability to work in a team, handle stress, solve unexpected issues and pay great attention to detail.

Required skills

• APPCC (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) knowledge.
