Commodity Manager

About the role

An opportunity for a Commodity Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The role is part of the Strategic Sourcing Team, responsible for end‑to‑end strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned product categories or service groups.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement long‑term category strategies and sourcing roadmaps aligned with corporate financial and operational objectives.
• Lead complex negotiations on pricing, contractual terms and Service Level Agreements to achieve measurable cost savings.
• Manage supplier relationships by identifying, vetting and onboarding best‑in‑class suppliers and conducting performance reviews.
• Conduct deep‑dive market intelligence and analysis to anticipate price volatility, commodity trends and macro‑economic shifts.
• Mitigate supply chain risks through robust contingency planning to ensure business continuity.
• Act as a strategic partner, aligning cross‑functional teams such as Engineering, Quality, Finance, Programs and Operations with the sourcing strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in strategic category management, global sourcing and complex contract negotiation.
• Advanced level of English.
