About the role

Morningstar, a global provider of independent investment insights, is looking for a self-motivated Associate Data Content Researcher to join its Managed Investment Data team in Madrid. The role works with the Data Strategy, Tech and Global MID operations teams to implement new data, data changes, business rule and interface enhancements. It is based in the Madrid office.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret business requirements and propose actionable data and process solutions.
• Design new data flows and user interfaces, and build back-end logic to ensure data accuracy.
• Provide solutions and consultation for data processing improvement from an overall data perspective.
• Propose data quality control back-end logic to improve data accuracy.
• Translate data methodologies into usable technology through detailed written specifications.
• Carry out feasibility and impact analyses of proposed data solutions.
• Communicate potential impacts or risks to stakeholders and prepare risk mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with relevant teams for implementation and documentation, and maintain database backend knowledge with readable documentation.

Required profile

• 3-6 years in business or data analysis, preferably in capital markets, wealth management or asset management.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or business with an exceptional academic record.
• Strong quantitative and business analysis skills, excellent English verbal, presentation and written skills, and a deep interest in data and analytics.
• Profound understanding of fund data, data, systems, processes and backend logic.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.

Required skills

• Database structure and design understanding.
• SQL.
• Basic programming, Python and database skills preferred.
• Experience with AI tools is a plus.
• CFA, NISM, FRM or NCFM certification or progress towards them preferred.

What we offer

• Base salary of EUR 47,000 to 65,667, with a 12.5% annual bonus target.
• Hybrid work, typically four days in the office per week.
