Coordinator, Operations – Hurricane Season

About the role

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is seeking an Operations Coordinator to support National Societies in the English‑ and Dutch‑speaking Caribbean during the hurricane season. Reporting to the Programme and Operations Manager, the role works closely with technical leads and the Regional Manager for Operations to ensure effective preparedness and response.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational, technical and coordination support to National Societies throughout the hurricane season.
• Assist in preparedness activities, operational planning and the roll‑out of emergency response actions.
• Collaborate with the Programme and Operations Manager, technical leads and the Regional Manager for Operations to maintain coherent response efforts.
• Facilitate communication and cooperation among the National Societies of Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Required profile

• Experience in providing operational and technical support within humanitarian or disaster‑management contexts.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and technical teams.
• Familiarity with preparedness, planning and emergency response processes.
