Corporate Lawyer - Insurance Sector

About the role

Cigna Healthcare, a division of The Cigna Group, is looking for a corporate legal and corporate attorney in Madrid. The role provides legal support across corporate, governance and, ideally, insurance distribution matters, acting as a trusted business partner who gives pragmatic, risk-based advice while ensuring compliance with corporate, insurance and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Legal on commercial and contractual matters: draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and corporate documents, advise on contracting strategy and risk management, and promote early legal involvement in strategic initiatives.
• Provide corporate secretarial support: coordinate annual accounts and statutory filings, draft minutes, resolutions, certificates and powers of attorney, and support interactions with auditors, notaries and registries.
• Manage company incorporations, restructurings, amendments to articles of association and capital changes, and maintain corporate records.
• Assist with setting up new entities and branches across jurisdictions and take part in projects on business expansion, operational transformation and governance improvements.
• Advise on insurance distribution activities and regulations such as the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), support regulatory governance frameworks, and give advice on customer-facing processes, delegation and outsourcing.

Required profile

• Professional qualification in law.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in insurance or regulated sectors, corporate, consumer and commercial law.
• Fluent Spanish and English; French is a plus.
• Experience supporting multinational organisations and cross-border projects.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment with multiple stakeholders.
