Correspondent Banking Associate

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a motivated Correspondent Banking Associate to join its Correspondent Trade Solution team in Boadilla del Monte, Spain. The role focuses on originating and structuring trade finance products such as letters of credit, guarantees, and trade loans across Santander’s global footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Originating and structuring documentary trade and trade loan transactions with correspondent banks.
• Supporting the Trade Sales team by obtaining competitive pricing for outbound guarantees.
• Quoting letters of credit opportunities presented by sales teams to capture new business.
• Coordinating internal processes with Risk, Legal, Compliance, Back‑Office and Middle Office stakeholders.
• Preparing high‑quality marketing and internal presentation materials with strong analytical content.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in trade finance or a related banking function.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, demanding environment with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude toward risk management and compliance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of documentary trade products (LCs, guarantees, trade loans).
• Understanding of pricing and structuring mechanisms in correspondent banking.
