Cost Manager - Energy Construction Projects

About the role

Turner & Townsend is engaged to support its clients on complex projects covering cost management and project delivery, and is seeking Quantity Surveyors / Cost Managers to act as the day-to-day interface with clients. The role suits someone with CSA and/or MEP cost management experience, possibly on major construction or energy projects. It is based in Valencia.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and cost plans, including the final cost plan, at conceptual, programming and detailed levels
• Assist on feasibility studies and write procurement reports
• Manage procurement: pre-qualification, bid list, bid analysis, bid report and contractual documents
• Take part in post-contract cost variances and change control, referring major changes to the line manager
• Carry out cost checks and valuations on larger projects, and produce monthly post-contract cost reports for the client
• Contribute to value engineering, negotiate and approve final accounts, and liaise with clients and consultants throughout the project
• Lead the cost management team when needed, identify new business opportunities with existing clients, and suggest improvements to cost management procedures

Required profile

• At least 5 years' experience preparing cost estimates
• Energy, data centre, pharma, oil and gas experience preferred
• Fluent Spanish and English
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large, medium to high complexity projects
• Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering and life cycle costing

Required skills

• Pre-contract, post-contract and final account cost management
• Understanding of mechanical, process, electrical and plumbing systems, and of civil, structural and architectural aspects
• Excellent presentation, verbal, written and communication skills, and good organisational and multi-tasking abilities
