Crash Test Engineer & Test Supervisor - Passive Safety

About the role

Applus IDIADA, a global partner to the automotive industry offering design, engineering, testing and homologation services, is looking for a profile to develop as crash test engineer and test supervisor. The aim is not to hold both roles simultaneously: a training plan has been defined so that the person can eventually work as a crash test engineer or as a test supervisor, depending on the workload of the crash test laboratory teams.

Key responsibilities

• As crash test engineer: maintain knowledge of testing protocols, standards, regulations and procedures; understand and manage customer requirements received through test requests; prepare vehicle and sample checklists; monitor test preparation and supervise test execution; manage post-crash activities; review, validate and document test results and prepare reports for the customer; contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
• As test supervisor: manage the requirements and instructions set by the crash test engineers through checklists; plan and optimise resources and execution schedules; lead and coordinate teams such as positioning, instrumentation, photography, track technicians and support staff; follow test execution and ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements; identify and manage technical risks and deviations; ensure compliance with laboratory quality procedures, safety requirements and best practices; drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in the automotive industry is an asset.
• Good communication skills and strong relationship-building skills.
• Empathic, proactive, with team spirit, assertiveness and confidence in discussions at different hierarchical levels.
• Flexible, resourceful and able to multi-task while prioritising and solving problems.
• Goal-driven, committed and open to working in an international company with a multicultural team.
• Medium to high level of English is mandatory; other languages are positively valued.
• Engineering degree (mechanical or electronics) desirable.
