Data & Analytics Intern (January 2027)

About the role

Metyis, a global firm offering AI & Data, Digital Commerce, Marketing & Design solutions and advisory services, is looking for an intern to join its Data and Analytics team in Barcelona or Madrid, starting in January 2027. The internship offers hands-on experience in strategy consulting, with regular client interaction and guidance from a dedicated mentor.

Key responsibilities

• Data Science: solve data science and analytics problems faced by clients, applying machine learning and analytics in practice while balancing project tasks
• Data Engineering: help design, develop and maintain data pipelines that extract, transform and load data from various sources
• Support data warehousing and data modelling, and create data-driven solutions for business needs
• Work with data scientists, business analysts and software engineers to implement data requirements
• Implement data quality and data governance processes, take part in code reviews and stay up to date with data engineering technologies

Required profile

• Data Science track: currently enrolled in a quantitative Master's with a focus on data analysis (e.g. econometrics, mathematics, physics, business analytics)
• Data Engineering track: pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a team, good communication skills and passion for data and technology
• Professional fluency in English; any analytical work experience is a plus

Required skills

• Statistical concepts, machine learning and visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, R, Shiny)
• Programming in one or more languages such as Python, Java or Scala
