Data Research Analyst (French Speaker)

About the role

Morningstar's EMEA Data Team is looking for a Data Research Analyst to process its data across global markets, working closely with the Global Data Team and Local Business Representatives. The position is based in the Data and Development Center EMEA in Madrid and focuses on data coverage, quality and timeliness.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with global data teams and act as a data expert on investment data points, processes, methodologies, calculations and fund structures.
• Manage business relationships with fund companies, connect with providers, set up acquisition channels and act as escalation point.
• Meet production deadlines for internal and external clients.
• Evaluate procedures, build and improve analytical tools, and run process improvement projects using methods such as LEAN Six Sigma.
• Collect and maintain Morningstar data with high accuracy, completeness and coverage.
• Own data tickets, respond quickly and turn client requests into detailed specifications and user stories.
• Document and improve client use cases.

Required profile

• Fluent English and French (mandatory); fluency in another European language is an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of the financial industry and passion for investment data.
• Experience in data methodology, quality and processes is a big bonus; project management experience preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Good oral and written communication and teamwork skills.

What we offer

• Base salary of EUR 29,000 to 39,000 plus a 5% annual bonus target.
• Hybrid work, typically four days in office per week.
