Data Science Consultant – Bilbao

About the role

You will join a leading consulting firm to work on high‑impact projects for top organisations. The role focuses on data mining, predictive and trend modelling, Monte‑Carlo simulations, and quantitative support for business and R&D initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement data mining and knowledge‑discovery solutions.
• Build predictive, trend and simulation models (including Monte‑Carlo).
• Review and enhance credit rating and scoring models.
• Provide quantitative support to business units and research projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on client engagements.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final‑year student in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Econometrics or related quantitative fields.
• Master’s degree considered for salary determination; postgraduate courses in Data Science or Quantitative Finance are a plus.
• Strong academic record and solid computer skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, work responsibly and integrate into multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Modelling techniques: logit, GLM, time‑series analysis, decision trees, random forests, clustering.
• Statistical programming: SAS, R, Python, Matlab.
• Big‑data tools and platforms: Hadoop, Hive, etc.
