Digital Database Product Manager – Getafe

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Digital Database Product Manager to join its Database and Hosting tools team in Getafe, Spain. You will lead the strategy, lifecycle and evolution of the company’s database products, aligning them with internal customer needs and technology standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the database product strategy, roadmap and lifecycle.
• Translate internal customer requirements into a prioritized backlog and scalable solutions.
• Design database solutions balancing performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
• Manage releases, version upgrades and continuous product evolution.
• Define operational models, service level agreements and monitor compliance.
• Monitor market trends and drive innovation in database technologies.
• Develop financial models (chargeback) and promote efficient consumption of database services.
• Oversee external providers delivering database operations, ensuring service quality and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Engineer, Administrator, Developer or Specialist.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Advanced English and negotiation‑level Spanish.
• Eligibility for security clearance.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with at least one major relational database (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB (plus).
• Knowledge of database automation tasks (plus).
