Direct Procurement Excellence & Category Manager

About the role

Roche is looking for an experienced procurement professional to act as Procurement Excellence & Category Manager in Sant Cugat del Vallès. The role combines two lines of work: managing direct operational procurement categories and leading the digital modernization of Source-to-Pay (S2P) workflows through AI, data analytics and process automation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned Direct Procurement categories end to end, partnering with Sales, Marketing and Customer Service on public tenders, market intelligence, supplier negotiations and commercial contracts.
• Drive the adoption of digital technologies, AI tools and process automation, fixing manual bottlenecks in S2P to shorten cycle times.
• Improve spend visibility and data quality, build executive dashboards, track KPIs and provide predictive spend intelligence.
• Lead business process re-engineering across the Source-to-Pay cycle and design streamlined workflows that respect corporate governance.
• Manage relationships and commercial performance of key suppliers, driving cost optimization and service levels.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field; Master's degree, MBA or procurement certification (e.g. CIPS) desirable.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Direct/Commercial procurement categories, supplier negotiations, contracts and commercial tenders.
• Proven experience in multinational, complex and regulated environments with matrix organizations.
• Business-level fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in BI and spend analytics tools (Tableau, PowerBI) and ERP systems (SAP).
• Experience with vendor portals, business process re-engineering and workflow automation.
• Deep knowledge of Source-to-Pay cycles, purchasing controls and spend management.
