EHS / Safety Managing Consultant

About the role

ERM Iberia is looking for an EHS / Safety Managing Consultant to support its Safe & Sustainable Operations (SSO) team. The role leads EHS and safety audits across Iberia and international locations, provides technical leadership in health and safety, and acts as client-facing lead for multinational clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver EHS and safety audits (internal, third-party and regulatory compliance) across Iberia and internationally, aligned with ERM methodologies and client expectations.
• Plan, coordinate and run multi-country audit programs, including scope definition, scheduling, resource allocation and alignment with local regulations and corporate standards.
• Provide technical leadership in risk assessment, hazard identification, process and industrial safety, contractor safety management and high-risk activity controls.
• Conduct gap assessments and root cause analysis, and support clients in closing corrective actions.
• Act as client-facing lead: manage client relationships, facilitate workshops, present audit outcomes and engage with site and corporate stakeholders.
• Ensure audit quality through report review, standardisation of outputs and application of internal quality procedures.
• Contribute to proposals and business development, and mentor junior consultants.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in process and industrial safety, including ATEX, fire safety and machine safety.
• Solid experience in EHS compliance and permitting frameworks, and in project management in complex, international environments.
• Experience in safety culture assessment and improvement programs.
• Experience in training, coaching and facilitation, with strong communication skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, pharma or chemical sectors is highly valued; additional languages such as French are an asset.
