EHS Support Engineer – ISO 14001 & 45001

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Support professional to join its team in Porriño, Spain. You will be responsible for managing the EHS management system, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and promoting a strong safety culture across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 processes and activities.
• Ensure compliance with all EHS legal requirements (government, local, etc.).
• Develop, communicate, and deploy action plans and key initiatives.
• Identify and resolve issues in the EHS Management System, verify implementation.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and dangerous occurrences, recommending preventive actions.
• Identify training needs, coordinate internal EHS audits, and support wellbeing activities.
• Prepare and follow up reports for legal compliance, sustainability reporting, and KPI tracking.

Required profile

• Official technical education in occupational risk prevention.
• Environmental management training.
• At least 5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Fluent Spanish (mandatory) and English (recommended).
• Strong communication, teamwork, reporting and analysis abilities.
