Electrical Site Engineer – Utility‑Scale Solar & BESS

About the role

INTEC Energy Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Site Engineer to lead on‑site electrical construction for large‑scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will ensure all electrical works meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all electrical construction activities on site.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, method statements and technical documentation before execution.
• Monitor installation of MV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, inverters, battery systems, SCADA and communication equipment.
• Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and client representatives.
• Support inspection, testing, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and energisation of electrical systems.
• Prepare and review inspection requests, work inspection records, punch lists and daily progress reports.
• Identify technical issues during construction and work with engineering teams to implement solutions.
• Report schedule deviations, risks and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and promote a strong safety culture.
• Participate in quality inspections, FAT/SAT follow‑up and project hand‑over activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in utility‑scale solar PV, BESS, substations or other power generation projects.
• Proven experience supervising electrical construction for EPC projects.
• Strong understanding of MV/LV systems, substations, transformers, protection systems, SCADA and communication networks.
• Experience with electrical testing, commissioning and energisation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams and technical specifications.
