Embedded Software Engineer (SoC Simulation)

About the role

Marvell's Virtual Platforms team builds functional simulations for System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, helping accelerate innovation and shorten time to market. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will create accurate and efficient functional models for simulating SoCs and work closely with software teams before physical silicon is available.

Key responsibilities

• Create accurate and efficient functional models for simulating SoC designs.
• Work with software teams to gather inputs so early-stage development can start before silicon is available.
• Analyze simulation results to diagnose and resolve firmware issues.
• Promote the adoption of virtual platforms within the company, highlighting their benefits for faster development and better collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 3-5 years of related experience, or a Master's/PhD with 2-3 years of experience; other majors may be considered with sufficient knowledge.
• Willingness to learn the technology and tools, including Virtual Platforms and the SoCs, during the first few months.
• Collaborative attitude and willingness to share knowledge with teammates.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Python and C++.
• Fundamental understanding of firmware and software architecture.
• Desirable: experience with simulator technologies such as Virtualizer, Simics, QEMU or gem5.
• Highly valued: experience in computer architecture (ARM and/or RISC-V).

What we offer

• Expected base pay of 44,900 to 59,800 EUR per year, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, location and market conditions.
• Eligibility for Marvell's bonus and equity plans, including a new hire equity grant and annual equity refreshers.
