Head of Data (Pricing & Revenue Intelligence)
amenitiz · Barcelona
Job description
About the role
Amenitiz, a platform for independent European hotels, is looking for a Head of Data to own its pricing and revenue intelligence: the strategy, the platform, the team and the products built with Product Managers and Designers. It is not a BI role: the person must have shipped data products that moved a business and still write code. The role is based in Barcelona.
Key responsibilities
- Turn data into revenue for hotels: learn from thousands of hotels and turn insights into actionable recommendations inside the product, with measurement rules set before launch and signed off by the CPO.
- Make the impact of each feature visible to hoteliers in the product, measured rigorously at platform level and against comparable hotels.
- Co-own the roadmap for revenue products, defining the data and models and ensuring every feature ships with a measurable hypothesis.
- Run the data foundation (warehouse, pipelines, instrumentation, reporting, self-serve analytics) with clear standards and service levels, and own the company's metric definitions.
- Set standards for the quality, access and privacy of guest and hotel data across four countries, and act as the senior voice on data in the leadership team.
- Lead and grow a small team of data engineers and data analysts, hiring, setting growth paths and building alongside them.
- Stay hands-on: write SQL and Python, ship models, debug pipelines and review code.
Required profile
- Has built products around data, not dashboards, and can show the business result of shipped models, recommendations or pricing logic.
- Has led a small data team in a startup with a small budget and limited process.
- Honest measurer: knows when an A/B test is the answer and uses matched controls, holdouts or synthetic controls when randomisation is not possible.
- Thinks in customer impact and owns revenue numbers.
- AI-first approach, with agents, LLM pipelines and automation.
- Fluent English; Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese is a strong plus.
- Experience in hospitality, travel, marketplaces, pricing and revenue management, demand forecasting or econometrics is a plus.
Required skills
- SQL and Python
- Modern data tooling and experimentation
- Knowledge of AWS stack: Redshift, dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, Glue, SageMaker, Cube
What we offer
- Stock options with a progressive vesting schedule
- Health insurance and 25 days of holiday from day one, rising to 28 after the first year and 30 after two
- €10 a day lunch through the virtual canteen Kombo while working from the office
- Flexible benefits for meals, childcare, transport and training
- Book purchase and access to a shared team library
Hiring process: a 30-minute call with Talent Acquisition, a 60-minute conversation with the CPO, a management conversation, a case study on anonymised data, a final conversation with the CEO and references including a former direct report.
