Energy Engineer – Industrial Energy & Sustainability

About the role

Group-IPS is seeking an Energy Engineer to join its Madrid office and support industrial clients in energy efficiency, sustainability and decarbonisation projects. You will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver technical solutions that improve energy performance across manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Support energy efficiency and sustainability projects in industrial environments.
• Assist in energy audits, technical assessments and data analysis.
• Participate in utilities and process optimisation studies.
• Contribute to carbon‑reduction and energy‑transition initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers and clients during site visits and meetings.
• Help evaluate technical and economic aspects of engineering solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports and project deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Energy Engineering, Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• 2‑5 years of experience in energy efficiency, industrial engineering, process engineering, sustainability or related projects (internships considered).
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish; French is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 35% and hold a valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Experience with Aspen HYSYS.
• Proficiency in Power BI.
• Familiarity with SCADA/BMS systems.
• Use of energy simulation software.
