Field Application Specialist - Molecular Diagnostics

About the role

ABL DIAGNOSTICS, founded in 2015, designs, develops and markets molecular biology diagnostic tests for infectious diseases, including genotyping by DNA sequencing, and related products such as sample collection kits and laboratory automation equipment. It is looking for a Field Application Specialist in Spain to support its molecular and gene testing portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first and second level application support for PCR, Sanger sequencing, NGS and other molecular tests, and support device installation.
• Support affiliates and distributors with installation, demonstrations, on-site validation, training and troubleshooting.
• Handle product updates, complaints and post-marketing surveillance efficiently.
• Develop and deliver product and application training.
• Contribute to customer relationship management, gather market intelligence and feedback to Product Marketing, Scientific, Technical, R&D and Quality teams.
• Take responsibility for application-related collaborations, attend user group meetings, workshops and exhibitions.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics or Medicine, or equivalent vocational training.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in sequencing, ideally in a clinical laboratory or as a trainer or field application specialist.
• Willingness to travel up to 80%.
• Excellent English and Spanish; knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.

Required skills

• Understanding of data analysis, software applications and/or bioinformatics tools.
• Ability to explain complex clinical and diagnostic issues clearly.
• Teaching skills, especially for online training.
• Customer service orientation, problem-solving and collaborative, structured work style.
