Field Service Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical)

About the role

JBT Marel, a global food processing solutions company, is looking for a skilled, customer-focused Field Service Engineer (electrical / mechanical) to join its Service team based in the Barcelona office and supporting customers across Spain and Portugal. The role is hands-on, with a high level of travel and variable hours, including weekends when necessary.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, corrective repairs and fault diagnostics at customer sites across Spain and Portugal.
• Write accurate, detailed and timely service visit reports after each on-site activity.
• Provide electrical / mechanical technical support for machinery, advising customers on maintenance best practices, spare parts and upgrades.
• Identify recurring technical issues or trends and share them with the manager and the Service team.
• Train customers on machine operation, maintenance routines, safety standards and cleaning procedures.
• Help create, implement and improve Service Department procedures, and answer technical questions from customers, technicians and the sales team.
• Spot potential sales opportunities and support the Sales organisation with technical expertise.

Required profile

• Hands-on mechanical engineer with proven experience in an electrical / mechanical service or field engineering role, ideally in food processing or industrial environments.
• Experience working directly at customer sites; exposure to multinational or multicultural customers is beneficial.
• Able to work independently in a remote, field-based role.
• Strong communication skills in Spanish and English; Portuguese is an advantage.
• Valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Electrical / mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
• Good working knowledge of digital tools such as Salesforce, Outlook and Microsoft Office.
